Birthday Parties

Celebrate your child’s next birthday at the Museum at our state-of-the-art Planetarium. Parties include a 30-minute custom planetarium show narrated by a museum educator (see the stars as they were on your child’s day and time of birth!), a private party room in the Museum’s Joyce Greene Education Center, and a hands-on art activity.

Ideal for children ages 4–11 years, planetarium birthday parties can be scheduled on Saturdays or Sundays, late morning or late afternoon (subject to availability). See the party timeline and a list of our trusted vendors.

Fee: $700 for morning parties (10am–12pm) and $800 for afternoon parties (4–6pm). Includes up to 30 guests; additional guests are $15 each, up to a maximum of 50 guests total (including adults). At least one adult for every 10 children is required. Refreshments, decorations, paper goods, and party favors are not included in the party fee.

The Hudson River Museum Amphitheater is an outdoor theater adjacent to the Museum that overlooks the Hudson River and the Palisades. This versatile, unique space is a perfect location for performances, graduations, photoshoots, and more. The Amphitheater’s concrete stage is 33 feet wide at downstage end and 18 feet wide at the upstage end, and the edge of the stage is curved.

The spacious, tiered seating area is designed to fit up to 400 people. We reserve the right to limit audience size due to the pandemic. Additional technical details available upon request.

Our spacious Lobby has a capacity of up to 60 guests for a seated dinner or 150 guests for a cocktail reception. Two sets of double doors lead out onto our beautiful Courtyard, where guests can enjoy picturesque views of the Hudson River and our historic home, Glenview. There is also the option to add on tours of our current exhibitions and permanent collection, or have a private screening of a planetarium show in our state-of-the-art, 120-seat Planetarium.

The Museum’s Planetarium offers a unique space for your next event, with an adjoining gallery for cocktail receptions. The Museum also considers special requests, such as use of the Planetarium for engagements.

With its unique architecture and beautiful garden courtyard, the Hudson River Museum makes a memorable wedding portrait. You may bring the photographer of your choice for your portraits.

With a suite of meeting rooms featuring projectors and sound systems, the Hudson River Museum is fully-equipped to host your next corporate meeting or lecture. From our Lifflander Conference Room, which can hold 18 guests for a planning meeting, to our Marjorie Isaac Studio space, which can hold up to 80 guests for a lecture or presentation, the HRM has a variety of spaces to meet your needs.

From our Gilded Age historic home, to our state-of-the-art Planetarium, the Hudson River Museum fits the script! We host a variety of film and television productions, as well as photography shoots at our facilities each year.
