Guillermo Galindo in Performance (Virtual)
Experimental composer Guillermo Galindo constructs musical instruments from artifacts found in the desert along the US-Mexico border—artifacts that are imbued with the spirit of their former owners. See and hear the composer perform a part of his composition Sonic Borders III with these instruments, demonstrating their transformative power as sculptural works of art to give voice to the displaced. The composer will introduce his score and take questions from the audience.
This program is in conjunction with Border Cantos | Sonic Border: Richard Misrach | Guillermo Galindo, which is on view at the HRM through May 9, 2021.
