Mapping the Human Experience with Brian Foo (Virtual)
Brian Foo, a data visualization artist at the American Museum of Natural History, constructs multi-sensory, digital maps that center on specific human experiences and broaden the definition of landscape art. In a virtual talk inspired by Landscape Art & Virtual Travel, Foo shares the innovative approaches he employs in his digital media landscapes, which facilitate interactions with the past, present, and future, and allow us to understand the world in new ways.
For a preview, see Foo’s innovative projects here, including The Sound of Movement, where you can drag your cursor across a map of the United States constructed of spliced video and audio footage of protests in each state after the killing of George Floyd.
