Tom Burckhardt on Red Grooms’s The Bookstore

Celebrate the 45th anniversary of Red Grooms’s The Bookstore, and join Laura Vookles, Chair of the Curatorial Department, as she interviews painter and sculptor Tom Burckhardt, who assisted Grooms in his large-scale creations for many years. Originally opened in 1979 as the Museum’s working gift shop, The Bookstore was restored and moved—in collaboration with Burckhardt and Grooms—to the galleries in 2008. Burckhardt will discuss his work with Grooms and share insights into his practice.
