Traditional Korean Fan Dance
Celebrate the Year of the Tiger in this special Lunar New Year demonstration. Buchaechum, or fan dance, is one of the most popular traditional dances in Korea, performed by a group of female dancers wearing hanbok, a traditional Korean dress. The dancers create natural shapes of flowers, butterflies, and waves using peony-colored fans. Enjoy a performance and interactive demonstration of this beautiful representation of Korean culture by Rebecca Lee and Songhee Lee of The New York Korean Performing Arts Center.
