Virtual Author Talk with Achilles Yeldell

As part of the Museum’s 2021 Pride programming, follow the journey of author Achilles Yeldell as he goes from bar fly to bartender to bar manager at one of New York City’s most popular watering holes. Steve Cruz, Chair of Yonkers Pride and member of Mayor Mike Spano’s LGBTQ+ Advisory Board, will interview Yeldell about his lighthearted memoir, Raised by the Bar, that spans two decades, with each chapter exploring a different year of watching and serving people in NYC nightlife. Achilles’ cautionary tales and bittersweet reflections offer insight, humor, and compassion for those who are exploring their sexuality and finding their place in the LGBTQ+ urban landscape.
