Weddings & Events

Book a wedding or special event in the Hudson Room, our largest space, with an adjoining terrace and beautiful views of the Hudson and Palisades. The Museum’s state-of-the-art Planetarium offers a unique space for a private screening, wedding ceremony, or proposals under the stars. Enjoy the Gilded Age architecture of our historic home from our beautiful garden courtyard, and explore our current exhibitions and permanent collection galleries. For corporate events, we have a suite of meeting rooms featuring projectors and sound systems, as well as a larger space suitable for conferences.

Planetarium Birthday Parties

Celebrate your child’s next birthday at the Museum at our state-of-the-art Planetarium! Parties include a private party room in the Museum’s Joyce Greene Education Center, a hands-on art activity, and a 30-minute custom planetarium show narrated by a museum educator featuring the stars as they were on your child’s day and time of birth.

Film & Photography Shoots

From our Gilded Age historic home to our state-of-the-art Planetarium, the Hudson River Museum fits the script! We host a variety of film and television productions, as well as photography shoots at our facilities each year. See photos of our facilities here. FAQs

How far in advance should I book my event?

Due to the large number of inquiries, we recommend inquiring at least three months prior to the intended date of your event.

May I choose my own caterer, photographer, etc.?

The Museum holds no restrictions on what vendors you may hire for your event, but final vendor contracts are subject to the Museum’s approval. For questions regarding vendors, please contact events@hrm.org.

How much does it cost?

Rental fees are dependent on spaces used, number of guests, time frame, as well as base fees for maintenance and security.

Can I view the spaces before booking?

Of course! Submit a request below, and we will be in touch to schedule a site visit.

Will the Museum provide security for events?

Museum security guards are always on-site and will be present for the duration of your event.

Can I bring my own decorations?

You may bring your own decorations, provided they do not permanently alter or damage the space. No open flames are allowed.

Do you require a deposit?

We require a 50% deposit and a separate, refundable security deposit with a signed contract.
