Hudson River Museum Elects Kate Buggeln to Its Board of Trustees

YONKERS, NY, March 4, 2025—The Hudson River Museum is pleased to announce that Kate Buggeln has joined its Board of Trustees following a unanimous vote at the February 6, 2025 board meeting. Her term will run through June 2028. With more than twenty years of experience serving on boards across both public and private companies, and working with non-profit organizations, Buggeln brings a wealth of expertise in business strategy, brand development, and digital engagement. Her career spans industries ranging from retail and manufacturing to the arts, making her uniquely positioned to contribute to the Museum’s goals and future growth.

Buggeln’s career has been marked by strategic leadership and a commitment to growth and innovation. A resident of Nyack, NY, she has served as a Board Director for notable companies such as Five Below, Noble Biomaterials, Ascena Retail Group, and The Vitamin Shoppe, where she served on and chaired committees, helping steer organizations through complex challenges. In addition to her business roles, Buggeln has a long-standing commitment to the arts, serving as an artist member of the Piermont Flywheel Gallery and supporting organizations like Bpeace, which fosters entrepreneurship in conflict-affected regions.

Kate Buggeln holds a BA in History from Fairleigh Dickinson University, where she graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society. Her combination of creative vision, business acumen, and leadership experience will be instrumental in advancing the Museum’s vision and expanding its reach in the community.

The Hudson River Museum is a preeminent cultural institution in Westchester County and the New York metropolitan area. The Museum is situated on the banks of the Hudson River in Yonkers, New York, with a mission to engage, inspire, and connect diverse communities through the power of the arts, sciences, and history.

The HRM offers engaging experiences for every age and interest, with an ever-evolving collection of American art and dynamic exhibitions that range from notable nineteenth-century paintings to contemporary art installations. The campus, which recently expanded to include a West Wing with exhibition galleries and sweeping views of the Hudson River, features Glenview, an 1877 house on the National Register of Historic Places; a state-of-the-art planetarium; an environmental teaching gallery; and an outdoor amphitheater. The Museum is dedicated to collecting, preserving, exhibiting, and interpreting these multidisciplinary offerings, which are complemented by an array of public programs that encourage creative expression, collaboration, and artistic and scientific discovery. The Museum is accredited by the American Association of Museums (AAM), an honor awarded to only 3% of museums nationwide.
