In 1979, the Museum commissioned Red Grooms to construct The Bookstore, an immersive art installation that served as our working gift shop until 2005. In 2008, it was relocated to Voter Gallery, and in celebration of this move, Grooms created a limited edition print, on view in Red Grooms: Drawing “The Bookstore.” This colorful composition, which depicts his wife, Lysiane Luong, standing in front of one of The Bookstore’s entrances, is available for purchase as a poster.
